Intro

A friend approached me with a problem of his. Apparently, sometimes things don’t go as planned. A week away from a delivery deadline, the TV ad below had to be redone from scratch. Guerrilla approaches were needed. (Sometimes)

The Process

There was no process. Not even the time to prepare properly. The code word was: Just Do It (Sounds familiar?)

I modeled the tongues and mouth interiors in Blender, and then somehow approximately tracked the mouths of the animals and replaced them with their CG versions. Each shot, of course, needed tons of comp cleanup and plates. Most of the plates were repainted by hand.

The Result

What’s important is that the ad was delivered on time.
